Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her ability to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition, she placed within the top two places in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix was signed to a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place at Athens Greece. Felix set the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she defended the title in front of her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her races.
